Dublin Core

The Dublin Core metadata terms are a set of vocabulary terms which can be used to describe resources for the purposes of discovery.
The Simple Dublin Core Metadata Element Set (DCMES, purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/) consists of 15 metadata elements: Title, Creator, Subject, Description, Publisher, Contributor, Date, Type, Format, Identifier, Source, Language, Relation, Coverage, Rights. These terms was later refined and complemented with additional terms in the purl.org/dc/terms/ namespace.
Many of the Dublin Core terms are reused/recommended (imported) to some of the biodiversity vocabularies that are described and discussed here. The Darwin Core terms can be seen as an extension to the Dublin Core terms.
