These terms has been developed for specific GGBN purposes but can be used in other molecular context too. The gel image vocabulary terms are actually specific to gel image facts only. The vocabulary is still under review. We appreciate any input or feedback. To do so please contact the GGBN secretariat at ggbn[at]si.edu.
Principal usage: The GGBN Gel Image Vocabulary is meant to be used with a 1:1 relation for 1 DNA record. Within a Darwin Core-Archive implementation it has to be used with the new defined Material Sample Core (not Occurrence Core). GGBN requirements and recommendations for usage and example content will follow soon.
This is a collection within the GGBN Data Standard. It contains the following concepts:
By label: DNA Threshold • Gel Buffer • Gel Concentration • Gel Duration • Gel Ladder • Gel Remarks • Gel Stain • Gel Stain Concentration • Gel Voltage • Identifier • Percent above Threshold • Staining Method
By concept name: dcterms:identifier • ggbn:DNAThreshold • ggbn:gelBuffer • ggbn:gelConcentration • ggbn:gelDuration • ggbn:gelLadder • ggbn:gelRemarks • ggbn:gelStain • ggbn:gelStainConcentration • ggbn:gelVoltage • ggbn:percentAboveThreshold • ggbn:stainingMethod
