Terminology Platform
This is a PROTOTYPE Semantic Wiki intended for the evaluation by the GBIF Vocabulary Management Task Group (VoMaG) in collaboration with WP 4 of the Virtual Biodiversity Research and Access Network for Taxonomy (ViBRANT). It is under consideration for a user-friendly and easy to use platform for the definition of basic terms, collaborative development oof vocabularies and ontologies, public discussion, and as a service for discovery of biodiversity terminology.
Each term is described by separate pages that define a concept. Concepts may be classes or properties or yet undefined. Terms can be organized into one or more term vocabularies maintained by a formally designated expert group. When the definitions for terms are consolidated they can be included into one of the term vocabularies and published at the GBIF Resources Repository. The wiki approach is based on voluntarily contributions to maintain the term descriptions. The approval of user accounts to this wiki is moderated - please request a user account if your are willing to contribute!
