This set of plant trait terms was originated from the Flora of North American Categorical Glossary http://www.huntbotanical.org/databases/show.php?4), then enhanced with many more terms extracted from published volumes (as of the end of 2013) of Flora of China and Flora of America by CharaParser (http://charaparser.googlecode.com). All the terms were then reviewed and categorized by a group of botanists and post-docs on OTO (biosemantics.arizona.edu/OTO/).
