User:Vassilis Protonotarios
Dr. Vassilis Protonotarios has a 5-year bachelor, a 2-year MSc and a 4-year PhD in Agricultural Biotechnology, all from the Department of Agricultural Biotechnology of the Agricultural University of Athens (Greece).
He has professional experience in the field of Organic Agriculture, both as an officer in the Directorate of Organic Agriculture of the Greek Ministry of Food and Rural Development as well from his participation in various EU projects concerning Organic Agriculture, working as an external scientific associate for Agricultural University of Athens, Greek Research & Technology Network (GRNET) and Agro-Know Technologies. He is a Scientific Associate of Agro-Know Technologies since January 2011. He is also the Greek National Editor of Organic Eprints.
He is working on topics covering educational/training resources, blended learning, educational metadata, digital collections/repositories, integration of Web 2.0 tools in the agricultural training context etc. He has also worked with learning/training scenarios in various EU projects (such as Organic.Edunet, Organic.Balkanet, CerOrganic & eCOTOOL).
Vassilis is currently actively involved in a number of EU projects, such as - agINFRA: Working towards the interoperability between heterogeneous data sources, including educational, bibliographic, germplasm and other types. Also involved in the publishing/linking of agricultural Knowledge Organization Systems (KOSs) as Linked Data. - VOA3R: Coordination of the content population/integration process, working on the evaluation of the metadata records that exist in the VOA3R portal and preparing/conducting a number of the project's controlled experiments. In addition he likes to disseminate the project and related events through various channels (Twitter/Facebook). - Organic.Lingua: Based on his previous experience with Organic.Edunet, he is currently working on the expansion of the Organic.Edunet network. ISLE Erasmus Network: Mostly dissemination activities (being the Dissemination WP leader), but also involved in other activities, such as learning scenarios and supporting the development of the project's content using a course management platform.
He is also involved in a number of joint projects, not funded by any EC programme, such as the collaboration with Digital Green and OER Africa.
