The terms of the GBIF Vocabulary of Terms (GBIFterms) will be minted here. Each term will have it's own Wiki page with the description of the term.
Terms are presented here organized alphabetical by their group (skos:Collection). The first step when setting up a new vocabulary (with external namespace URIs) is to import the term identifier URIs to the Wiki.
Namespace URI: http://rs.gbif.org/terms/gbif/gbif# with preferred namespace prefix “gbif”.
The preferred namespace prefix “gbif” is defined on: Each preferred namespace prefix on this platform must be unique. Please edit the pages above, changing all but one namespace prefix. In general, you should keep the namespace on the most prominent or largest vocabulary unchanged. If a prefix is already defined on a concept scheme, do not repeat that definition in a collection.
While above an automatic list according to the new skos:Concept template is shown, the list below is a manual link list from the early use of the terms wiki:

Taxon Description (gbif:Description)
DwC Taxon extension to exchange simple text/paragraph based taxon descriptions. Not suitable for structured descriptions and keys, but useful for creating species pages. (No new terms defined).
Species Distribution (gbif:Distribution)
Geographic distribution of a taxon. gbif:appendixCITES [9]
Alternative Identifiers (gbif:Identifier)
Other known identifier used for the same taxon or occurrence. Can be a URL pointing to a webpage, an xml or rdf document, a DOI, UUID or any other identifier. (No new terms defined).
Simple Images (gbif:Image)
Simple extension for exchanging metadata, in particular links, for species or occurrence images. (No new terms defined).
Literature References (gbif:Reference)
Bibliography for a taxon. (No new terms defined).
Species Profile (gbif:SpeciesProfile)
